This is an easy, low-pressure interactive post.
Below is a writing prompt/story starter. Set your clock for 5-8 minutes (or longer, if you like!) and just WRITE for that amount of time. Don't worry about the pressure of grammar, capitalization, or other confines of writing. Instead, focus on telling the story! Hopefully you'll end up with something you're proud of!
I am using the book 300 Writing Prompts, which I got on Amazon after my sister-in-law bought me a book called Write the Poem. I have used both in the classroom successfully, and the kids like the release involved in "just writing" instead of "worrying" about being correct. On a personal level, both of these resources FORCE me to write, which is just the nudge I need every once in a while. :) As more of a self-proclaimed "poet" over "prose writer", I prefer Write the Poem, but both are great to brush off those cobwebs!
Have fun!
Complete this prompt: "Write about something presently in your life that is 'worth it'."
